Hat by CAROLINE REBOUX. Haute couture spring summer - circa 1943 The model is made of natural straw and black sisal. The shape is a round cap that follows the back of the head with a wider halo brim on the front giving a nice height effect. The reverse side is trimmed with a wavy black sisal decoration on one side and decorated with a black veil falling slightly on the front. The interior is lined with a strip of flesh-colored rayon. The label is sewn on the base: Caroline Reboux 9 Avenue Matignon Paris. Span of the top: Length (nose to neck): 27 cm Width (ear to ear); 28 cm Head circumference (at the level of the grosgrain); 52 cm The hat comes with a box of the house. Good condition. A trace where the forehead rests at the level of the rayon. The box is in poor condition with various dust, stains and moisture deformations as well as tears at the edges.
