(index and 1 blank f.), 315 p., [6] f., 17th c. tan basane, spine with 5 nerves, author's note, spine with 5 nerves, gilt author, gilt fleur-de-lis decoration on caissons and boards, the latter bordered by a roulette and with gilt coat of arms in the center, gilt edges (rubbing, corners very worn, upper guard incomplete; dampness in the inner margins at the beginning of the volume, tiny worm spots in some margins, freckles).
First edition given by Casaubon, which also contains comments by Élie Vinet.

Provenance: with the arms of the Collège des Grassins, one of the nine colleges dependent on the ancient University of Paris; handwritten bookplate on the title of a Jesuit college, dated 1742; another ms. bookplate crossed out. A few rare old annotations in the margins.
