There is also a treatise on smallpox and leprosy, and a subject more rarely approached under its surgical aspect, a "treatise" on the diseases and accidents that remain after the Gehenne, or torture and Estrapade of criminals" for the essential reason thus exposed: "Christian charity, for although the wicked deserve the punishments they suffer, nevertheless we must not leave them in despair, so that their soul is saved". Trace of wetness on the whole volume, margins trimmed on the last two ff. without loss of text.
