History: This exceptional sword, despite its condition, can be dated to the end of the ancien régime. It is very modern as proven by the presence of a counter-keyboard (absent here) which will become widespread in the 19th century. See lot 380 of the sale on April 2, 2008 (de Maigret, expert : B. Croissy). This sword, also made by Palle Fourbisseur du Roy is from the same period as ours. Surprisingly, it does not have its counter-keyboard anymore.
