Very beautiful carpet KOUBA (Caucasus), end of the 19th century
Dimensions : 156 x 116cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation.
The framework of this elegant carpet, formed by a succession of stylized ivory birds, stands out on a midnight blue field, where imposing crenellated and cruciform flowers spread their blooming corollas. The decoration is completed by multicolored flower stalks and by small boxes with Kotchaks (ram horns). The main ivory border with small star medallions is flanked on each side by rows of polychrome checkers. A certificate of authenticity of the expert, Mr. Frank KASSAPIAN, will be given to the buyer.
