SEDAN STITCH carpet (mechanical) (France), mid 20th century
Dimensions 240 x165cm.
Technical characteristics : wool velvet on cotton foundation.
A magnificent polychrome rosette, composed of botehs and its important pendants, is laid down on an ivory oblong cruciform counter field with stems flowered old gold. The whole is lying on a pink field with celadon green scrolls. Four important arabesque spandrels complete the set. Two old gold borders with flowers enclose a large anthracite border with a series of blooming corollas on floral stems. Elegant. (Minor wear and in the edges) A certificate of authenticity of the expert, Mr. Frank KASSAPIAN, will be given to the buyer.
