Helmet of Republican Guard on horseback model 1876, city of Bordeaux.
Oxidized nickel-plated iron shell, brass band decorated with foliage with the arms of the city of Bordeaux. The basanes of the visor and of the helmet cover are missing. The back of the bomb is stamped "S.G.F.M." (Société Générale des Fournitures Militaires). Crest in gilded brass, stamped with a decreasing series of 13 pearled gadroons and on the front of a Medusa head and a palmette at its base. Marmoset absent. Mane in black manes, slightly short with an effective length of 50 cm approximately. Jugulars in brass and with scales to the model. Square-shaped plume holder in brass without its plume. Black leather inner cap with seven wolf teeth, later (modern re-fabrication). Worn.
