[Encyclical letter to all the bishops of France.] Paris, October 4, 1890. In-4 of 4 pp, bradel half-maroquin green bottle with corners, gilt title in long on the back (Honnelaître). First edition, rare. Letter entirely written in Latin, addressed to the bishops of France to ask them to plead at the court of Rome the cause of the beatification of Christopher Columbus. The fourth page is occupied by the announcement of Christopher Columbus before the bulls. Booklet not put in the trade, "drawn to very small number, of which certain sheets were used for the packaging and, of this fact, did not enter in circulation" (Laquerrière- Bollery). Autograph mention signed by Léon Bloy of the title in French at the top of the first leaf.
