MOSWEA-NGOMBE, Oubangui cult area, Democratic Republic of Congo/Central African Republic. Wood, dark and light patina in places, pigments. Ancestral invocations, these two statues represent the primordial couple Seta and Nabo. By the aesthetics, the sobriety of the geometric volumes and the intense inner peace emanating from his statues, one can understand the liberated and inspired look of modern artists towards African art.
