"[ARCHIVE de la CHÂTELLENIE de LILLE] Important set of 121 handwritten documents from the 14th, 16th and 17th centuries concerning the history of Lille and its region, to which are added five equally handwritten notebooks, two of which, more important, of about fifty and one hundred leaves. The documents are written on parchment or vellum, sometimes accompanied by wax or paper seals. They show the names of important local people of the time such as Jehan de Le Becque, the lord of La Haye, Jean Stapart, the bailiff Pierre Besart, Claude Masurel, Martin de Thieffries, Régnier, Jehan de Robles, Eustache and Charles de Croÿ, Sallembier, Gilles Blondel, the President Simon and many others. We find in this archive : reports and enumerations of the fiefs of Cysoing, in 1529, of Coquepaille, with documents on the fief of Coquepaille, in Lesquin, in 1613, the report and enumeration of the chapter of Saint-Pierre de Lille in 1524, the sale of lands in Anstaing in 1526, 1533 and 1628, the purchase and sale of lands in Linselles in 1688 and 1698, those of lands in Ronchin in 1416, 1499 and 1617, of lands in Baisieux in 1374, a letter of purchase of lands in Marcq en Baroeul dated April 23, 1510, another dated 1453, a third of 1449, the sale of lands in Marcq en Baroeul in 1403, or the sharing of a farm in the same town in 1541, in Cobrieux, by the Provost of Cysoing, in 1663 and 1660, in Pérenchies in 1457, in Cysoing in 1466, in Moyenneville in 1647, in Hellemmes in 1474, the deed of annuity for the fief of Heulle of 1391 situated in the city of Marcq, the sale of lands in Bondues in 1698, in Baisieux in 1449, of meadows situated between the doors of St-Pierre and of the Barre in 1475, the letter of purchase of the fief and the seigneury of Warenghien, in Avelin, in 1523, the sale of a house, rue Royale, in Lille, in 1688, that of the House of the Three Kings in Lille in 1472 and in 1535, and that of the so-called Parliament, also in Lille, in 1488, of a house rue des Malades with the sign of the Red Cross in 1626, that of a house, rue du Brulle in Armentières in 1564, of another in 1601, a contract of acquisition of lands and meadows in Marcq, on March 12, 1505, the purchase of lands, in Flésquiere, belonging to the Abbey of Loos, in 1357, or others, dated 1409, 1522 and 1693, like the adjudication of another in 1574, the act of safeguard given by the King to the Chapter of Saint-Piat of Seclin in 1404, that of a commission of the Chamber of Accounts of Lille of 1642, a document on the Blocquel de Croix family dated 1694, an attestation of Hubert Lepers of 1614, the purchase of lands in Armentières on April 28, 1600 at the notary Joachim Cornet, a certificate of services of arms of 1579, the sale of the cense and gardens of Marcq en Bareul of 1552, a letter of annuity for Anne Pollet, dated 1652, signed by Regnier, others of 1460, 1482, 1528, 1545, 1641, 1653, 1655 1662 and 1704, reimbursements of letters of annuity of 1556, 1573, 1587, 1666, 1672, the transport of an annuity of 1699, the sale of another one in 1522, or the division of letters of annuity of 1526, the payment of arrears of annuities of 1534, an heir annuity after the purchase of a farm in 1604, the constitution of an heir annuity in 1560, a renunciation of inheritance in 1579, a letter of acknowledgement of debts and summons of Leers in 1595, a seizure made on a fief of Mouveaux in 1485, or a letter of foundation of a bed in the Hospital of the Chartrières by the widow of Jacques Le Flameng, lord of the Boutillerie, on February 21, 1605, or the discharge of an obit in Cobrieux in 1673, the defense of fishing on the commune of Gorgue in 1640, or a strong document on the bourgeoisie of Ypres in 1591 and acts of redemption of Inheritance (1504), powers of attorney of 1559 and 1590, transactions in 1457 and 1496, marriage acts of 1527 and 1572, a bond (1727), a receipt (1480), a dispensation of 1588, or a setting of funds in deposit (1669).
