KIRMAN carpet (Iran), 2nd third of the 20th century
Dimensions : 400 x 290cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
A sublime lozenge medallion poly-lobed and vegetalized, old gold, with acanthus leaves sky in circumvolution, crown of roses, starry heart and flowery bouquets, throne in the center of a field ruby, oblong with braces, strewn with polychrome bouquets. Spandrels and large inner frame "molded" composed of exuberant floral compositions. The border is formed of cartouches and multicolored plant medallions. Colourful palette.
