Very fine ISPAHAN carpet on silk chains, signed "SEIRAFIAN" (Iran), Shah's era, mid 20th century Dimensions : 215 x 142cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on cotton foundation. A magnificent starry, vegetal, multicolored rosette and its cruciform pendants, throne on a brick field covered with flowery scrolls in circumvolution. Four elegant spandrels, with ivory arabesques, vegetalized frame the whole. Four counter-borders, ivory and navy with floral interlacing enclose the main sky in suite of floral compositions in polychrome, placed on delicate plant stems. Signed in an ivory cartouche, surrounded by Iranian colors in the lower kilim.
