Size : 21 x 13 cm This engraving represents the famous merchant and traveler Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, baron d'Aubonne (1605-1689), known for having discovered and sold to Louis XIV in 1668 the extraordinary blue diamond of 118 carats, which reappeared in London under the name of "Hope Diamond".
