Hinges of the endpapers restored. Otherwise, a beautiful copy of this authentic rarity (see our explanations and commentary in the catalog of the 1st Pierre Jacob Sale - lot n°64). The collector who entrusted us with this volume and the next one had the ambition to gather all the colors of the cartonnage for this test. Here are the only two copies (+ a red one too ugly to be included here) that he managed to find in nearly thirty years of research (see next lot).
