Mask Edo-Bini, Nigeria Ohne Sockel / without base Wood. H 34,5 cm. Provenance: - according to H. and M. Zimmer: Galerie Maria Wyss, Basel. (1960s). - Helmut (1931-2021) and Marianne Zimmer, Zurich. Mask from the ekpo society. The men's society also acted as an intermediary between the central power of the royal court and the people. He was concerned for the welfare of the village and intervened in a regulating manner when problems arose.
