Mask from the ekpo society. The men's society also acted as an intermediary between the central power of the royal court and the people. He was concerned for the welfare of the village and intervened in a regulating manner when problems arose.
The masked figure appeared at political and legal occasions as well as at religious ceremonies in a larger ensemble.
