A pair of gilt-bronze mounted Sèvres cookie porcelain figures of 'Le Batteur en Granges' and 'La Batteuse de Beurre', the porcelain circa 1755-1765, the mounts Louis XVI late 18th century after François Boucher, 'Le Batteur en Granges' modelled as a young farmhand holding a scythe in his right hand resting against a tree trunk, incised JB monogram for Jean-Jacques Bachelier at the back of the trunk, 'La Batteuse de Beurre' as a milk-maid churning butter, both upon square bases, the mounts of square form, with a shaped apron applied with acanthus, on fluted bracket feet, h. 25 cm.
