In these paintings, Desportes repeats, with variations, a pair created four years earlier, in 1727, and then acquired by Victor-Amédée II, Duke of Savoy and King of Sardinia for the Royal Palace in Turin, now kept at the Galeria Sabauda in Turin (100 x 79 cm each).
