Butti" magic-religious statuette of the "Ngâ or Nganga" healer, depicting a standing figure without arms and with a hollowed-out abdominal cavity.
End of the 19th-beginning of the 20th century.
Height : 26,5 cm.
Small missing pieces, slight restoration.
Note : Traditional practices were often decried by religious missionaries, so some objects have undergone the test of fire. This magic-religious fetish was saved from the flames by a collector on behalf of Raoul Lehuard, hence the traces of fire black on the statuette.
Provenance: former collection of Claude Lehuard.
