Maria ETIENNE, XIXth century. The small marquis. The little marquise. Pair of charcoals of the Restoration period. 46 x 30 cm. Located in the Orne region, not far from Alençon, the perched village of Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei was an artists' colony in the 19th century, and welcomed famous painters such as Jean-Baptiste COROT or Gustave COURBET. They liked to meet at the Moisy sisters' inn.
