His real name was Victor Lepage, but he also published under the pseudonyms of Maurice Raphaël, Ralph Bertis, Zep Cassini, Luigi da Costa, Ange Gabrielli, Vic Vorlier and Victor Saint-Victor.
Author of numerous short stories, black and erotic novels devoted to the Parisian or Marseilles underworld. He is, with Simonin, one of the masters of the slang of the milieu. Some of these novels have been adapted for the theater and the cinema.
