Oil on canvas, probably depicting Claude II BALLIN holding a scrolled coffee pot, accompanied on a table by a dish and a creamer. In the background on the right is a large ewer also decorated with sconces. The master goldsmith is represented with short hair, wearing a kind of cap and a red drape on his left arm.
Attributed to the court portrait painter Alex GRIMOU (1678 - 1733).
