Ekwotame statue in wood and pigments presenting a female figure seated on a stool. The upright posture of the figure is rendered by the balance of the long arms with hands resting on the knees, framing the bulbous umbilical area. The whitened face, contrasting with the black patina covering the body, offers almond-shaped eyes sculpted in high relief under a thick arch. The mouth is half-open on rows of white teeth. The forehead, the temples, and the vertical band running across the abdomen, present scarifications in relief. The head is topped by five high buns that extend from the top of the head to the nape of the neck.
