Gouro style mask Ivory Coast Wood Height : 36 cm Crack and restoration of the right horn. Harmonious balance of the forms and modeling. The softness of the intense brown patina, shiny in places, is matched by the curves of the oval face. The dynamism of the whole is accentuated by the horns that stand out from the top of the skull, and almost meet at their extremity, forming a hollowed-out oval. A delicate ringed collar from the temples to the jawline magnifies the lower part of the face. A long, rounded beard reinforces the pout of the small pinched lips. A pretty nose with a thick nasal bridge at the flared end, connected to the superciliary arches. The eyelids, the rings in relief intensify the range of the eyes hollowed out. (Sold without the base)
