Yombe style mask, Democratic Republic of Congo Wood, white and black pigments Height: 28 cm Triangular jaw, hollow cheeks accentuated by the presence of dark pigments. Small mouth pouting with full lips. Realistic nose linked to the superciliary arches. Slightly rounded forehead. Retreated gaze that seems to probe and stare at the earth with attention. A dark skullcap covers the face, whitened and yellowed by the pigments.
