Ivan DA SILVA-BRUHNS (1881-1980) is a particularly interesting artist since his work of painting is mixed with his passion for tapestries. Indeed, this artist exploits as well the two mediums. He presents them in parallel at the time of the Salons of the Independents, between 1911 and 1923, of the Salons of autumn, between 1913 and 1936, and also at the time of the International Exhibition of the decorative and industrial modern arts of 1925. Ivan DA SILVA-BRUHNS realized tapestries for many projects, for embassies, national palaces or some large liners like the Normandie, the Atlantic, the Ile de France or the Marseillaise. We find, in the presented work, the characteristic geometry of the tapestries of the artist.
