Partly first edition of the Mimes, work of Jean Antoine de Baïf (1532-1589), humanist and poet of the Pléiade, fellow student of Ronsard and Du Bellay at the college of Coqueret.
Books III and IV, published under the general title Continuation des Mimes, appear here for the first time. The volume contains a total of 37 pieces, 14 of which are unpublished.
