Oil on canvas.
60,2 x 81 cm.
Signed lower left "Ch Camoin".
In magnificent frame.
View of the port town with the turquoise green, partly yellowish shimmering water of the bay. On the wide shore path numerous figures and on the water numerous small anchored boats. Densely packed are the houses, some with red shining roofs on the quay, behind it rises a steep mountain range and on the right side in white coloring is an old fortress under the turquoise-blue sky to see. Painting in loose, rapid brushstrokes with partly pastose application of paint, conveying the atmosphere of a summer day. (†)

In 1902 he made the acquaintance of Cézanne (1839-1906). Although he joined the Fauves, he was not a convinced Fauvist. (13306061) (18)
