Automne à Versailles Oil on wood. 27 x 35,2 cm. Signed lower left "L Sidaner". In bronzed frame. Composition designed in pointillist brushstroke, in which the basin with its reflecting water is given considerable space, while the buildings and trees are found moved to the upper edge of the picture. Optically cleverly solved, Le Sidaner extends their presence to the reflecting water, creating a harmonious pictorial effect. (†) Provenance: Joseph Verneuil. Private collection, Argentina.
