In the shape of various traditional Japanese objects. K. Uyeda (Kichigoro Uyeda) are probably the oldest established Japanese silversmiths still in business. Founded in 1884 as a souvenir shop for foreign tourists, it is still in operation. In 1923, the Uyeda store opened in the recently built Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, designed by the famous American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Among Uyeda's clients were many famous people: American baseball players Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio, actress Marilyn Monroe, diplomat Henry Kissinger and his wife.
