Faint stains on 2 plates, otherwise in fine condition. Bound in full calf, spine gilt, weak hinges First edition. The Jesuit Etienne Binet, passing through the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Lambert de Liessies, was amazed by the portraits of saints in the choir. He undertook to share his enthusiasm by delivering to the public this small hagiography which relates in a succinct way the life of about forty fundamental saints and gives some maxims which are attributed to them.
