[ARGONNE, Bonaventure d'] "Explication de l'office Divin selon L'usage des V.V. Peres Chartreux Tirée des saints Peres, et des Auteurs Ecclesiastiques Par un Religieux de la Chartreuse de saint Julien l'an De notre seigneur MDCLXXXII". [Aubevoye] 18th c. Contemporary speckled basane, spine gilt decorated with flowers, spotted edges (corners dulled, boards rubbed, def. at lower edge). Bonaventure d'Argonne (1640-1704) was a lawyer before taking his vows at the Carthusian monastery of Bourbon-lèz-Gaillon (Aubevoye) on July 29, 1663. He died there after having been a vicar in Rouen for a few years. His name appears at the end of the dedicatory epistle. The Grande Chartreuse conserves another copy of this work. Ref.
