3 Italian sets. [C. 1898-1928] 40 cards. Mounted under photo corners on supporting ff. (traces of use). 1. Neapolitan portrait game. Bari, Guglielmo Murari, 1898. Full-length, woodcut and stencilled, 8.1 x 5.3 cm. Back: blue and white Renaissance decoration. AD with tax stamp and maker's mark, which is repeated on 4D and 4C. - 2. venetian portrait game. Naples, Pignalosa, [c. 1900]. Two heads, color lithograph, 10.2 x 4.9 cm. Back: floral decoration in black and white. AD with maker's name. AB, AC and AE with quotes in Italian. - 3 Carte da giuoco Italia Nuova. Ibid, 1928. Full-length, color lithograph, 8.6 x 5.7 cm. Back: allegory with military symbols, lion and Italian coat of arms in blue. Game of the fascist period where the traditional signs are replaced by helmets, anchors, propellers, and lictors' beams. The figures represent, for the ladies, Italy in allegorical form, for the kings and the servants, the military.
