Virgil Solis - Veturia / Description: Veturia; whole-length figure, frontal view, the head in profile to right; holding a shield in her right hand; and a necklace or chain her left hand; below the figure: 'VETURIA' and on her shield 'SPQR'.. From a series of nine plates of female worthies in strap work borders called Heroines of history. Engraving and etching made by Virgil Solis. Signed with monogram 'VS' intertwined top left. Unnumbered first state. / Dimensions: 8,30 x 5,80 cm / Condition: Good impression on laid paper from the period on laid paper with full plate border and good margins. Very good condition with no folds, tears or stains.
