ROUND SIDE TABLE
Louis XVI, Paris, 18th century and later. In the style of Adam Weisweiler.
Mahogany and flamed mahogany mulled and inlaid with dark fillets. Round top with radially inlaid marquetry and black fillets, set in brass rod on straight frame and fluted conical legs on casters connected by partially openwork X-bar.
Ø 77 cm, H 71 cm.
Later changes to the leaf and probably to the frame.
The table is reminiscent of the so-called "tables à thé" by Adam Weisweiler, which also had a central shaft and a pull-out round tray integrated in the center of the leaf. Cf. Maurice Segoura, Weisweiler, Paris, 1983, p. 94.
