K.P.M. TEA JUG WITH CHINOISERY DECOR Meissen, around 1723-24. The painting in the workshop of J. G. Höroldt. Pressed baluster shape with curved spout with mascaron attachment, the handle on both ends with leaf attachment, each with Indian flowers. Painted on both sides with two squatting Chinese stirring in a large cooking pot, each in a gold cartouche with cooper's chandelier and iron-red feather bushes. Between them scattered butterflies. Shoulder finish with gold lattice border, the domed lid with four Indian flowers in purple and iron red, gilded rims. Underglazed blue sword mark and K.P.M., gold number 26. on both parts. H 11,8 cm, Ø 15,5 cm. Provenance: - Kunsthandel Otto Büel, Lucerne. - By succession into present private ownership.
