OVAL SUGAR BOX WITH INDIAN FLOWER PAINTING
Meissen, around 1730. Painting from the circle of J. E. Stadler.
Painted in East Asian style with a peony shrub with yellow, sea green and blue leaves. The rim border with iron-red latticework on purple background between oval reserves with half flowers in iron-red, sea-green and blue. The knob of the domed lid in the shape of a lying rabbit colorfully painted in brown, iron red and purple with heightening in yellow. Underglazed blue sword mark and incised mark VV.
