COFFEE POT WITH CHINOISERIE CORNER
Meissen, c. 1723-28.
On both sides chinoiserie scenes in gold cartouches with iron-red feather bushes. One side with a Chinese man playing a lute, his gaze fixed on an aviary of birds, accompanied by a monkey at a keyboard instrument, the other with a Chinese dignitary at a table having a meal and a companion holding a tea pot and grapes, the scene on a terrace with flowering shrubs and a monkey eating fruit from a basket. Without maker's mark, gold number 10 on the bottom of the pot.
H 20,5 cm.
