Switzerland, dated 1595. Monogrammed CM (Christoph Murer 1558-1614).
The coat of arms of the city of St. Gall as well as Zurich (later replaced), surmounted by the crowned imperial eagle, flanked by two standard bearers. Upper images with depictions from the life of Mucius Scaevola. In the lower corners two drumming putti and inscribed 'Die Statt Sanct Gallen 1595'. Framed.
42 × 32 cm, with frame 46 × 36.5 cm.
Cracks and distressed lead. Revisions.
