In-12°. Full midnight blue morocco (Petit). Spine with 5 nerves richly decorated and gilded. Triple gilt fillet around the boards. Double gilt fillet running along the edges. Large gilt lace on the back covers. All edges gilt. Almost free of curling. Slight scratches on the boards.
Uncommon first edition of this second work published by Mérimée, decorated with a lithographed frontispiece on mounted chine, representing the poet Hyacinthe Maglanovich as a guzla player.
