from the operas "Hans Heiling" and "Der Freischütz" after Moritz von Schwind Over a raised round base with nodus oval body with indented neck, merging into a wide swinging rim. From the rounded shoulder of strongly relief-plastic acanthus leaves rising, sinuous serpentine handles. On both sides of the wall, in cobalt blue background recessed, large-scale and framed by octagonal, golden chevron border depictions of three scenes from the famous romantic operas "Hans Heiling" by Heinrich Marschner and "Der Freischütz" by Carl Maria von Weber, respectively, after the lunette designs of the Austrian painter Moritz von Schwind in the so-called Schwindfoyer of the Vienna State Opera. The ceiling and wall designs are dedicated to numerous famous opera pieces from Marschner and Weber to Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Cherubini. Extremely fine polychrome painting with rich gold staffage. Body surrounded by various ornamental borders in relief as well as rich ornamental decoration of lyre and vase motifs surrounded by large scrolled acanthus leaves, cornucopias with fruits and stylized shells in matte and bright gold with fine interior drawing. Designed by Ernst August Leuteritz. Marked by model no. A 195. Meissen. 2nd half of 19th c. Sword mark. H. 80 cm. Three-scene depiction on the front. In the center, in a rock niche, the enthroned queen of the earth spirits, crowned by a diadem adorned with rays and holding a ruler's staff. At her feet the kneeling son "Hans Heiling", lying in her lap, taking leave of his mother to go to the human world and to his future bride Anna. On the left, the depiction of the young Anna accompanied by her lover Konrad, Heiling's rival, with Hans Heiling standing in the background. On the right depicted the dwarves and gnomes standing in front of a cave entrance, the so-called "Heilingszwerge", who according to the legend of the Brothers Grimm inhabit a cave ruled by a prince named Heiling. On the reverse side scenes from "Der Freischütz" with a view into the interior of Kuno's forester's house, in it Agathe and Ännchen (Freischütz, Act 2, Scene 1). Agathe looking anxiously out of the open window and looking for her lover Max. Ännchen with hammer, rehanging the painting of her ancestor. On the right, scenic depiction of four boys setting out on a hunt with shotgun and hunting horn, including Max, Kaspar and the hereditary forester Kuno (Freischütz, Act 1). On the left, scenic representation in the Wolfsschlucht, Samiel in red robe appearing at the call of the hunter boy Kaspar, below Max tormented by confused fantasies with ghosts and monsters (Act 2, Scene 2). A monumental museal cobalt-blue ground porcelain vase of 80 cm with snake handles, polychrome and very finely painted with scenes of the Romanticism operas "Hans Heiling" by Heinrich Marschner and "Der Freischütz" (The Freeshooter) by Carl Maria von Weber after the foyer decoration of the Vienna State Opera made by the Austrian painter Moritz von Schwind.
