Ghoum carpet (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), central Persia, circa 1930-1940
298 x 206.5 cm
The carpet is decorated with the so-called "garden" design: it is composed of numerous red, navy blue, pink and ivory compartments decorated with animals, birds and polychrome flower bouquets.
An ivory border with flowering trees where birds, animals and flowers are nesting is framed by four red counter-borders.
