Important silver, silver vermeil, tortoise shell, ivory and crystal travel toiletry set monogrammed I.E. presented in a compartmentalized box with mobile trays in ebony veneer, inlaid with copper nets and central chased copper monogram, and provided with two lateral brass handles. Signed on the lock L. Aucoc ainé in Paris.
This box was offered by Princess Charlotte of Belgium, Empress of Mexico, and only daughter of King Leopold I of Belgium, to Mr Eloin. Attached is a letter from the Princess dated February 7, 1868.
