AN ANTIQUE VICTORIAN JUBILEE DOUBLE SOVEREIGN PENDANT, 19TH CENTURY AND LATER in 22ct yellow gold and 9ct yellow gold, set with an 1887 double sovereign coin, on a later scroll mount, no assay marks, 4.2cm, 17.6g. The minting of double sovereigns in 1887 marked the first time that a double sovereign was struck for circulation since 1823, and was done in commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
