Relief of coffered ceiling or frieze; Morocco; 18th century. Carved and polychrome wood. Size: 31 x 102 cm. Relief made on polychrome wood, which presents an ornamental design in which a band composed of carvings representing geometric and kufic elements, i.e. Islamic writing, is arranged in the form of a frieze. The piece has a symmetrical pattern, with a central band containing the main motifs and an upper band in which an element in relief is repeated rhythmically in the form of a synthetic flower that varies in colour, alternating with each other.
