"In 1786, the author published a first collection of anecdotal medals containing those he had determined and described since the publication of his Numi Anecdoti, they are arranged as in the first work. This collection is accompanied by 10 plates and has no continuation. It was again in 1786 that he published a numismatic monograph, in which he applied his method. It is a description of the medals of Antioch and Syria, presented as a numismatic essay. In the preface of this little work, he explains the plan of the immense work that he was preparing at that time and which was to give the science an absolutely new form.
