KACHAN carpet (Iran), mid 20th century
Dimensions : 357 x 268cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
A ruby field hosts a sowing of polychrome flowery scrolls, forming a trellis supporting starry plant compositions. Four counter borders, ivory and sky, with garlands of flowers frame the main border navy to succession of bouquets and flowered vases. The whole gives off an impression of assorted colors, the best taste.
