The Campo del Cielo meteorites are very popular because they were discovered in large numbers in Argentina in the Chaco province and its surroundings and are present in all meteorite collections, often in several specimens. It is a very large meteorite of several hundred, even several thousand tons, which met the Earth more than 5,000 years ago by fragmenting into thousands of meteorites as it passed through the atmosphere.
