He thanks him for his appreciation of his work [Inconveniences of the right of birth, a work in which it is shown that any distinction between the children of the same family leads to a host of evils]: "What he says about his work flatters him infinitely and makes him hope that he will be able to approach his goal; if only one family owed him its tranquility, he would consider himself rewarded for his pains"... A L.A.S. is joined, 8 pluviôse II (January 27, 1794; 2 p. in-8), concerning a help of the Commission of public instruction, for the physicist of Lyon Devillers, "carried in the list of the people of letters and savans that the Convention wanted to help".
