Rare account of the food of the house of the Duke of Anjou for the day of July 29, 1566 at Chantilly. The various expenses for food: basket-making, scullery, kitchen, fruit-making, and pounding, are noted here in this account: "Aux moynes de Reaulmont [Royaumont] pour ii septiers vin de bouche lx sols"... The wages of various members of the young Prince's household are also listed and pledged: the butler Strossy, the butler Alamanni, the treasurer, the controller, the clerk of office, the "preceptor of Monseigneur", the doctor Millet, the apothecary, the writer, the chaplain and the clerk of chapel, the washerman of body, etc... [Niccolo Alamanni, son of Luigi (1495-1556, Florentine poet exiled in France and protégé of Francis), born around 1520, followed the career of the arms in the service of France.
