Second edition, entirely recast, decorated with figures. Paris, P. Mongie, 1825. 4 vol. in-8 black half calf, spines threaded, titles and tomaisons gilt (period binding). Some rubbing to the spines, wear to the spine of volume 4. Some foxing. The best edition to consult according to Caillet, very rare and the most complete of all according to Dorbon. The atlas contains a frontispiece (bound in volume 1) and 15 plates, bound at the end of volume 4, lithographed by Delignon after Le Roi, representing among other things sabbath scenes or reproducing the Pacte d'Urbain Grandier and curious "claws" of various demons (Caillet 2459; Dorbon 806.) We add by the same author: Dictionnaire critique des reliques et des images miraculuses. Paris, Guien et Compagnie, 1821-1822. 3 vol. in-8 paperback, printed covers. A few small brown spots. Good condition as issued. "This work is preceded by a historical essay on the Cult of Relics and Images, the wars of the Iconoclasts, etc. At the end are two very rare works, one by John Calvin, entitled: Traité des Reliques, ou avertissement très utile du grand profit qui reviendrait à la chrétienté s'il se fait inventaire de tous les corps saints et reliques qui sont tant en Italie qu'en France, Allemagne, Espagne, et autres royaumes et pays, and the other which is a reply to Calvin's book, entitled: " Traité des Saintes Reliques par l'Abbé de Cordomoy ", published in 1719. The work also includes a Supplement and ten tables of contents." Caillet 2456.
